About CBX-LALALA

I have been riding a CBX1000 motorcycle for over 20 years. I will post about FCR carburetor and CBX1000. I am writing a blog in Japan.

About engine overhaul of CBX1000
The popularity was split between the 70s and 80s, and currently the Z series has a larger market share, but I'll write about the differences. The main difference between the CB-F and Z series engines is the number of valves. The Z series has two valves, while the CB-F series has four. Putting aside the things that are not immediately accessible or visible, such as a strong engine or powerful output, it all comes down to this one point.
Installing the cowl on CBX1000 is not difficult.
I received a question about installing a cowl on the CBX1000,so I will write about it in a column-like manner. Bikini cowls can be easily installed on almost any naked bike. Let's move on with the subject being a frame-mounted cowl.
I love CBX1000’s painted accessories.
This story uses photos taken at a rental garage. My CBX1000 has a repainted exterior. We also store the normal exterior separately.
I found a box for a CBX1000 FCR from over 20 years ago in the back of my room.
This is the box that my CBX1000 FCR came in. It's not uncommon to find parts from decades ago. It's a little unusual to find just the box. The contents are still in good working order. Judging from the packaging of the box, is it the same as the CRS carburetor? The illustration shows the CRS carburetor, not the FCR.
FCR Tuning – What is the air-fuel ratio at idle?
As the title suggests, this is about the air-fuel ratio of the FCR when idling. The air-fuel ratio of my CBX1000 when idling is around 13.5 when the engine is cold, and around 12.9 when the engine is warm. This is just based on my current preference. A senior Z enthusiast told me that the air-cooled Z series is 14.

FCR Tuning – Tuning that becomes worse due to jet changes is within the acceptable range of effects.
What does it mean to tolerate poor performance? I will write about the tuning that makes the performance worse. FCR tuning is a repetition of AB testing. If there is no change even after adjusting the carburetor, it cannot be compared. It is possible to get a result that there was no change, but if you cannot compare, you cannot tune the FCR.

I got the spark plug wet! If you use the accelerator pump too much, you will get into big trouble.
This is a story about when the spark plug gets wet. When the spark plug gets wet, it means that the engine is having a hard time starting and gasoline is sprayed onto the spark plug, making it wet. The same applies if there is oil on the spark plug. It also includes other things like carbon buildup.
FCR Tuning – Synchronizing six FCRs is the best part of tuning
Carburetor synchronization is the best part of tuning an FCR. It's one of the things you want to learn the moment you realize you want to be able to tune. This blog post is not going to be mainly about how to synchronize a CBX1000. It's going to be a column about the importance of synchronization.

Riding is fun when you attach a cowl to a naked motorcycle
Driving review with CBX400F Integra cowl installed on CBX1000. I am not talking about how easy it is to drive without the wind,or how it looks, but it is a lot of fun to throw it around and knock it over. My riding technique is rather poor. And if anything,it feels like a straight line number.

FCR carburetor tuning – test run on the expressway and Kizuna Stadium in Iwakuni
I have been told that a Saturday Night meeting will be held at Kizuna Stadium in Iwakuni from 19:00 on October 22,2022. Along the way,I also tried driving the FCR while checking various air-fuel ratio gauges and paying close attention to the effectiveness of the accelerator pump.
FCR – Test run on the expressway – Check the condition of the main jet
The speed is within the legal speed limit. Fully open the throttle while looking at the gears like 3rd,4th,and 5th. CBX1000 is a motorcycle with up to 5 speeds. 3rd and 4th gears provide peaky acceleration. When you shift to 5th gear,it won't accelerate comfortably until you get up to a certain speed, but it feels like it will gradually increase the top speed and accelerate.
FCR tuning-AS air screw adjustment22/08/03
I wanted to eat curry for lunch,so I went for a light FCR test run. With my ability,I can't decide on a good screw position in one go,so I just do test runs and try different screw positions from rich to lean.

Buying a CBX1000 FCR – How to tune for the first time
Many people want to install a racing carburetor on the CBX1000. In Japan, the options are the BITO FCR or CRS carburetor. It seems that TMR can also be made to order, but it is not common. If I were to buy one,I would choose the FCR.
Tools required for CBX1000 FCR tuning
Racing carburetors such as FCR are not finished once they are installed; with FCR,it is just the start. FCR starts after tuning. This time I will introduce the tools used for FCR tuning of CBX1000. It will also serve as a reference for other motorcycle FCR users. The main focus is on tuning,so if you want to completely disassemble it you will need a separate tool, but this is an introduction to tools for tuning.

FCR tuning – Acceleration pump adjustment – If it is too fast, it will hit the throttle valve.
Write down what will hit you first. I found a case the other day, where the fuel injection from the FCR's accelerator pump hit the throttle valve. The fuel is not being sucked into the engine, but is instead hitting a door called the throttle valve.
Do you have the parts list, service manual, electrical diagram, and FCR tuning manual?
I have written a case where I lent the CBX1000 parts list to an acquaintance. At that time,I also lent them the service manual, power distribution diagram, and FCR tuning manual. I wouldn't say it's essential when doing DIY,but it doesn't hurt to have it on hand and read it carefully for knowledge.

It can be changed to a naked specification instead of a cowl installation that cannot be reversed.
The matte black exterior has been changed to glossy black, including the meter, turn signal side cover, and rear fender. Added lines to the front fender.
