FCR Tuning - Apply filter oil to the ram air filter at the end...

This is not a story limited to FCR. While setting up FCR, I often test drive with funnel specifications. The reason is that it is a hassle to attach and detach the ram air filter when turning the air screw. Although it is a ram air filter, even if it is installed and driven with oil applied, it will not affect the settings much.

Tools required for CBX FCR tuning...

Racing carburetors such as FCR are not finished once they are installed; with FCR, it is just the start. FCR starts after tuning. This time I will introduce the tools used for FCR tuning of CBX1000. It will also serve as a reference for other motorcycle FCR users. The main focus is on tuning, so if you want to completely disassemble it you will need a separate tool, but this is an introduction to tools for tuning.

Amon 5-pole slim relay surge coil countermeasures...

My CBX uses Amon's 4-pole relay and 5-pole relay for the added wiring part. It will be referred to as a relay below. The other day when I was browsing the internet, I found that the current flows backwards after the coil is disconnected. I did not know. The relay is used to turn on and off the position lamp.

Adjust the balance of the multi-vacuum gauge...

CBX is a 6-cylinder multi-engine. You will need to synchronize the carburetor. The other day, I adjusted the balance of the vacuum gauge for the first time in a while. This time we'll be talking about multi-vacuum gauges for motorcycles. I don't know if it's for cars. Balance adjustment is to align the needles of each meter of the vacuum gauge uniformly. Whether or not the actual negative pressure can be measured accurately is another matter.

FCR tuning - Change and synchronize SJ and MJ 22/09/27...

About MJ main jet. When I looked at the air-fuel ratio meter, I noticed that it would be better if I made it even slightly lighter. It may not make much sense, but I changed MJ by one step from 128 to 125. This is the season when fuel becomes richer as we approach winter. There is no problem even if you shake it a little thin.

Do not set FCR - strictly prohibited before touring....

The weight of troubleshooting is completely different when you drive with the expectation that trouble will occur in your local area, and when you go far and cause trouble. Basically, no matter what kind of work you do, whether it's changing a tire or anything else, replacing something means that your car will go from being running well to not being able to run, even temporarily. Maintenance is about changing your body from a state where you can't run to a state where you can run better than before, or a state where your endurance is higher than before.

Test drive the CBX and head to the rental garage...

I didn't return it to the rental garage for a while because the rainy season ended and it was easy to drive, and I was frequently tuning the FCR. The day before I ride the CBX, I pull it out of the rental garage, leave it at home, and ride it the next day.

FCR-tuning SJ and MJ change 22/08/15...

With SJ45, I felt like the screw was opening too much, so I changed it to 42. I chose 42 because I wanted to make fine-tuned tuning, but 40 might be the perfect range for all year round. I feel a little regretful that it might not be necessary to make it look strangely deviate from Bito's initial tuning.

Comparison of idle port and slow port of FCR carburetor...

I hadn't been aware of it until now, but this is a story that makes me feel like I understand the difference in air-fuel ratio between the idle port and the slow port. There was an incident where I was able to see the difference between fully closing the throttle and opening it slightly to about 1/16, so I will write about it.
