First, a note:

Some of the content I write might involve aspects of Japanese culture that may be difficult to understand outside of Japan.
This is a story about visiting a shrine, but it’s more of an amusement spot resembling a shrine.
Even as a Japanese person, I can’t tell whether it’s a real shrine or an amusement facility.

I’ll share my experience of visiting the Hiroshima Motorcycle Shrine.
It seems that there are many motorcycle shrines across the country.
It’s a good spot to use as a stop during a tour.

Consider incorporating lunch into your route for a more enjoyable touring experience.
There are no vending machines available.
However, there is an ashtray, so you can smoke.
Restrooms are also available.
This is a spot commonly referred to as the Motorcycle Shrine.
It is said to have been established by the Hiroshima motorcycle company, Barcom.
It is more of a shrine-like spot than an actual shrine.
Be sure to check your map or GPS carefully before heading out.
Even if you drive slowly, there's a high chance of getting lost if you don’t follow the route on your navigation.
There are small guide signs along the way.
Drive carefully and slowly, paying attention.

This is not a place suitable for dining.
Consider it as one of your destinations.
Enjoy your meals at other restaurants along the way.

Musashi Donguri Village is an easy-to-reach lunch spot for motorcyclists.

There are various spots around the Hiroshima Motorcycle Shrine.
The highway is also nearby, making it easy to control your time on the way there and back.
The roads along the way are rural with little traffic, featuring many straight sections and good visibility.
There are also many intersections.
However, even at intersections with good visibility, driving at extreme speeds like 300 km/h could lead to an accident.
Please be sure to exercise caution and avoid accidents.

Recommended spots nearby – two others besides Musashi Donguri.

This area is a famous touring spot among the locals.
Surprisingly, there aren’t many lunch spots around here.
I will recommend two lunch spots.
I’ll write this assuming you will stop for a meal at these locations along the way.
【Golden Valley】
The owner, who is a motorcycle enthusiast, runs this restaurant.
Burgers and curry are the main dishes.
It’s a motorcycle-friendly place to visit.

【Nagadote】
It's a restaurant that serves steak bowls.
It would be helpful for the staff if you call ahead to make a reservation or check for any closures, and adjust your timing accordingly.

Depending on the route, you can create a course through mountain roads with few traffic lights, offering various opportunities for enjoyment.

If you're touring the northern part of Hiroshima city, this is a classic route. The prices are also quite reasonable. Musashi has been a well-established spot for a long time. You can enjoy various things at an affordable price.

There aren’t many places to easily get a meal around here. If you want to eat elsewhere, a bit of travel will be necessary.

Touring Spot – Hiroshima Motorcycle Shrine【summary】

The Motorcycle Shrine I introduced this time is a quiet spot, not a place where motorcycles gather in large numbers or make a lot of noise. There are motorcycles displayed in a museum-like fashion, but nothing particularly eye-catching. They seem to be placed as sacred objects.

Even for a slightly larger group, the parking lot is spacious. However, drinks are not sold on-site. Restrooms and a smoking area are available for use. Please use the restrooms and smoking area in the designated places.

The Hiroshima Motorcycle Shrine is not a public facility; it is managed by a large local company. Please enjoy the site while respecting public morals.

See you again!
