CBX1000 Night Ride – Photo Gallery of Headlights and Lamps

All lighting related to my CBX1000 has been switched to LED. I’m completely satisfied with the result. I installed the meters without considering their brightness, so they’re so bright at night that it’s difficult to see the neutral lamps. The meter lamp size is BA9S. Next time you disassemble it, it might be better to add a resistor or something similar to slightly dim the brightness. The brightness seems quite high, although it can vary depending on how the photo is taken. The area around the switch is equipped with a turn signal position, a hazard light, and a multi-reflector. This is just a brief overview.

Although the price is high, it doesn't seem to have a bad reputation, it appears to pass vehicle inspections, and I feel safer buying something more expensive, so I choose it. *You don’t have infinite money, so it’s all about moderation.

It's made of resin, so if you want to use glass, I think it's a good idea to pick up Marshall. However, Marshall has a very strong logo, so the cat mark is in the middle of the headlights. If you don't like it, you'll have to consider it. Until the Z900RS came out, multi-reflector headlights were more popular, but recently more and more motorcycles have started to use projector headlights. I decided not to hire him because I thought it would ruin the image of CBX1000.

The advantages of LEDs are their low power consumption, brightness, and long lifespan. However, I sometimes find them too bright when used in headlights and other visible lamps.

Custom headlights are recommended for beginners.

Customizing headlights, lamps, and other parts is recommended for motorcycle DIY beginners. If wiring is involved, the complexity can increase significantly. However, if you only need to replace lamps or parts, it’s relatively straightforward.

Here are several reasons why I recommend it:

・Minimal Tools Required
Almost no special tools are needed. A basic DIY tool set from a home center will suffice. It’s a small investment for future use, so you can’t go wrong.

・Simple Replacement
No special processing is required—just remove the old part and replace it. Lamps are consumable items designed to be easily replaceable. While there are some specific techniques to follow, mistakes are unlikely.

・Easy Solutions
Problems like turn signals flashing too quickly when switching from bulbs to LEDs or fuses blowing when changing from a single horn to a double horn can be resolved by reverting to the original setup. For well-known issues, clear answers can often be found online or through social media.

[Note for DIY Beginners]
An adjustable wrench is not a universal tool. Use a box wrench for tuning bolts, and choose a driver that matches the force and size needed. Avoid using stainless steel screws purchased from home centers for motorcycles or cars, as they can cause rust and other issues. Additionally, be cautious with stainless steel materials in electrical connections, as they can lead to unexpected problems.

Many people who own old cars or motorcycles still use light bulbs in their lights. The atmosphere they provide is important, and the reasons for not upgrading are varied. If you want to brighten things up without using LEDs or multi-reflectors, consider alternative solutions. For instance, you might use fog lights in a way that they’re not visible, or improve brightness by optimizing the wiring.

LEDs around the meter can be quite bright at night and may become problematic if not managed properly. Running at night can be challenging if it’s too dark. Additionally, it’s disappointing if you install a cheap product in your headlights and then fail the vehicle inspection.

While a replacement headlight bulb is acceptable, if you opt for a multi-light reflector or projector, choose a product that is designed to pass vehicle inspections from the start. This is especially important if you only replace parts during the inspection process and need to store them accordingly.

Well then! See you again!
