Beautiful photos – at the motorcycle exhibition hall
This photo was taken at the storage location for my CBX1000. It’s displayed in the exhibition area of the rental garage, which can also be used for a fee. The parts with a mirror finish and the plated components look stunning under the fluorescent lighting and direct sunlight. The glossy black-painted parts reflect beautifully, giving the bike a new appearance, which I’m very pleased about. I’ve also included a brief explanation in the summary section.

I like the front part of the CB1100F. Especially where the stabilizer is attached by default. The bolts are made to be silver. The inner part of the fork has been re-plated.
The air balance pipe is shaped like it is fixed to the triple tree, so it is difficult to stick out the fork. We also put a spacer at the bottom of the triple tree and a spacer at the bottom of the handle to prevent the handle from hitting the tank. The stock voltmeter has been removed and an air-fuel ratio meter has been installed. The reason is that it is easy to see while driving and I don't want to clutter the steering wheel or the area around the meter.
The voltmeter can be checked using a separate Yoshimura Tempmeter.
About rental garage
I use a rental garage for a fee, which is to be expected for such a service. Keeping your bike in the parking lot of your apartment or condominium increases the risk of theft or vandalism, which is one reason for choosing a rental garage—to avoid such issues.
Another advantage of rental garages is that they are well-maintained. Being fully enclosed in a warehouse protects your vehicle from rain and wind, and the temperature remains relatively stable. The better the garage is managed, the higher the cost will be. To keep a motorcycle in good condition and prevent rust and paint fading, proper storage is crucial, which is the responsibility of the rental garage.
However, there are some drawbacks. In my case, I use a motorcycle shop’s rental garage, which means I can only access the garage during business hours. If I need to take my bike out early in the morning, I bring it home the day before. Similarly, if I return late at night, I park it at home and return it to the garage the next day.

When I didn’t know much about motorcycles, I dreamed of upgrading to a larger 35-inch front fork. I thought it would be cool to transplant the suspension from a high-performance motorcycle and wondered if it would make the bike faster.
As I’ve grown older, I’ve realized the importance of balance in motorcycles. Now, I’m considering transplanting the front end from a later model SC06 CBX1000 with a 39-inch fork or from a CB1100F. Since both are part of the CB-F series, they can be installed with minor modifications or as a bolt-on. This approach helps maintain the balance of the bike’s angles and length.
The later SC06 model of the CBX1000 has a front fork without the TRAC function, often referred to as an anti-dive feature. On the other hand, the CB1100F features a front fork with this anti-dive mechanism. The CB1100F uses a mechanically controlled system, which adds complexity with more parts, making it potentially confusing. However, I opted for the CB1100F because I appreciate the manufacturer’s design, even with its added complexity. This fork is also used in the CB-F series CB1100R, though the specifications differ.
Motorcycles have an aesthetic appeal that makes even engines and small bolts look beautiful. Even if modifications create a bit of a mess, it’s important to address it with neat painting. I chose a glossy black finish for a clean look, compared to the original matte black satin finish. I’m currently satisfied with this style.
Looking ahead, you might be tempted to upgrade to Ohlins front forks or radial mount brake calipers, but that’s something to consider in the future. In another 10 years, electronically controlled front forks and suspensions might become more common as aftermarket parts. It’s important to capture photos and videos of your motorcycle while it’s in good condition. I hope to continue riding it for another 20 years.
